MONMARTE PARIS

I HAVE RICK'S BOOK ON FRANCE BUT NOT PARIS. IN THE PARIS SECTION THERE ARE NO SMALL B&B/HOTELS LISTED FOR THE 9TH DISTRICT/MONMARTE.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A NICE CLEAN INEXPENSIVE PLACE TO STAY WITHIN THE 9TH . I WAS THINKING MONMARTE. THANKS

I'm not sure how else you're searching but you have spelling and location problems. It's Montmartre and it's in the 18th arrondissement. Also, to get any real help, you'll need to tell us your idea of inexpensive.

and before the all capitals shouting police get to you, unless you need to use all caps for some reason, can you PLEASE turn off the Caps Lock key? Thanks.

Go to TripAdvisor and see what's there in your price range. You can get some better prices in Montmarte but I've not really seen "bargains" by Paris standards. Montmarte is still pretty convenient to most of the tourist sights and some people just love the area. To get "inexpensive" you will need to go down in quality or move much farther out from the center of Paris.

I stayed in the 9th, at Opera Deauville on Rue d'Amsterdam. It is very close to Gare St. Lazare and a 10 minute walk to Boulevard Clichy, where there are many restaurants and pubs. It is about a 20 minute walk to Rue d'Abbesses and Sacre Coeur. If room size is of no importance, it is an ideal hotel. I myself live in a small condo and do not need a lot of space. My room was large enough for the bed, a small desk, and a little refrigerator. The bathroom is tiny, but again, that is of no importance to me. The entire staff is extrordinarily helpful and pleasant. There are many cafes in the area for breakfast and a bakery across the street, plus a laundromat a short walk away. Don't let the location scare you. Train stations do tend to attract lots of homeless people but if you walk with your head up and your bag close, you will be just fine. I am a small single woman and had absolutely zero issues. The 9th is a wonderful place, largely tourist-free and the *best bargain shopping in the city.
PM me if you have any questions!

We have stayed at this apartment in the 9th for the past 4 years. Great studio for 1 or two persons. If you are staying about a week, this is a great deal. It is located on Rue Rodier. Google the street and look for the green security wall with 2 gates. One for a car and one for people. It is towards the top of Rodier.
