Monet's gardens in bloom in mid May?

We will be in Paris from May 14th through May 24th. Was wondering if anyone knew if the flowers would be in bloom yet at Monet's gardens at Giverny. I'd love to make the trip if the gardens are blooming, but not so much if it's too early.
Anyone been there that time of year?

They should be in full bloom. I was there the first week in May in 2007, everything except the water lilies was in bloom. The taller flowers are underplanted with shorter ones, not a wilted blossom in sight, it was a peak experience! I think they must groom the gardens at daybreak, before visitors arrive. The gardens are surrounded by tall trees, there are benches to sit and the house is also very interesting. Plus, there's a nice restaurant just steps away. For me, it was almost the best part of the trip. Take your camera!

Yes the blooms will be blooming though do try to make your visit on a weekday and as early in the morning as possible..our most recent visit was mid October, mid week, and even then we weren't alone...

We were there at the end of April and the wisteria on the bridges was in full bloom and lots of tulips...absolutely heavenly!

And yes do go there as early as possible and avoid the weekends. It gets quite crowded and the entire garden/house is much smaller than I expected. You must go down steps and under the road to get to the part with the lake (monet-made!) where the wisteria, the pretty bridges and the water lilies are. This is easy to miss...so look for the signs.

I was also there in August one year and the water lilies were in bloom then. But it was terribly crowded. But it is always worth a visit.

Giverny is a small village with not much else (now that the Amer. museum has closed.....such a shame)
but it is very pleasant to stroll.
