Monet's Garden in Oct?

Hi all, Planning to go to Paris in late Oct/Early Nov. We want to visit Monet's Garden before it closes for the winter. Will there be much to see on the last day few days in Oct? I'm guessing the garden will not be at its best (prettiest) during that time, correct? what is the best month to visit Monet's Garden? thanks! Jenny

I was there in mid-October last year. It was beautiful. I doubt a couple of more weeks would make a difference. I can't even imagine how stunning it must be in peak season. Some day I hope to find out. Enjoy your trip!

I've heard it's still nice in October, but I think that's going to depend a little on the type of weather that precedes your visit. On the plus side, I highly doubt you'll have to wall-to-wall people problems that come with a visit in peak season. We spent a lot of time trying to find the right angle for pictures that didn't include at least a couple dozen other tourists.

Many thanks! We are planning to arrive Paris on 10/29...and will probably go to Monet's Garden on 10/30 or 10/31 depends on the weather (finger crosses!)....just right before it closes... hopefully it will not rain!!

Even in mid-October it was difficult, and sometimes impossible, to get pictures without other people in it. As stated, the last day to go would be 10/31. If you have the opportunity to go you will not be disappointed.

I was there in late Sept last year and the flowers were about 1/2 to 2/3 what is in bloom earlier in the month (I've been there earlier multiple times). It's still somewhat crowded in late Sept, but not as much as earlier, which is nice. Don't really know what late Oct will be like but I see that others still enjoyed it. If you have time, be sure to have a lunch in the Hotel La Musadiere, which is on the street that runs behind Monet's home. Wonderful crepes on the outdoor patio (be sure to try to salted caramel apple crepe!) Bon voyage!

We went at at the beginning of April which is similar in the fact that it is shoulder season with iffy weather and the garden is not near its peak. It was fabulous in the sense that we pretty much had the garden to ourselves. Which is the best month is a difficult question: is june or July better because the plants are at their peak or a shoulder season which you can really enjoy the garden with less tourists???
