Does anyone know of a monastery or convent that is open for lodging? I had a vg expereince in staying in Italy in convents and am hoping it is avail in S. Spain.

There's a book by E Barrish (sp?) called something like Staying in Spain's Monasteries. I used her comparable book for Italy; it was OK, although make sure you get your own, very specific, directions about location of the lodging. At least the book will will tell you what's available. Also, FYI, I found hotels/guesthouses/etc to be much more reasonable in Spain than elsewhere in western Europe.
