We will be traveling by train from Toulon to the Cinque Terre in Italy. Is it possible to get off and spend a few hours in Monaco on the way?
Yes, you can get off and stay as long as you like on a general travel ticket. If you make reservations that may change; be sure to ask at the ticket office when you leave Toulon.
For complete timetables go to www.bahn.de. Click on the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner for English. Enter Toulon as your departure point and the Cinque Terre town of your choice as your arrival point. Click on "Search." Near the top of the new page on the right-hand side click on "Via." Enter Monaco and the length of time you wish to stop over. Click on "Search connection" at the bottom of the page on the left. After you get summary timetables, click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points. Any legs that require reservations will be clearly noted.
Hi-thanks for your help-have another question. Is the only way to book reservations for the train is through a travel agent or to call directly on the phone? - Can't seem to do it over the internet.
