Have a week at a time share in Mitterfels, Germany next week. I will be traveling from Amsterdam to Mitterfels and returning to Amsterdam to fly home to US. What is best means of travel?

If I have the town correct, it is Northeast of Munich. If so, I would book an AirBerlin flight from AMS to Munich, then rent a car from there. DB would be lots of time on a train, even for a night train, but that could be another choice.
