How do I travel on the train from Milan to Murren? How many stops? How much time?
Mari, The trip from Milano Centrale to Mürren via BLM will take between 3H:56M to 5H:49M with three to five changes, depending on which train you choose. There will always be changes at Interlaken Ost and Lauterbrunnen, so those are unavoidable. You can research the times and details by using either the bahn.de or sbb.ch websites. If you buy a ticket at Milano Centrale, they may only be able to sell you a ticket to Spiez. Once there you'll have to buy another ticket to Mürren (that was my experience last year). The trip I'd use is a departure from Milano Centrale at 07:25, arriving Mürren at 11:21 (time 3H:56M, 3 changes). You'll have to confirm this schedule just prior to your departure, in case there are any changes. If you use the BLM route, when you arrive at Lauterbrunnen you'll need to walk across the street to the Cable Car and take the short ride to Grütschalp. There you'll board the small BLM mountain railway which is timed with the Cable Car arrivals. After a short ride, you'll arrive in Mürren (it's about 30-45 minutes as I recall). Happy travels!
Thank you so much!
