Remind me... do the underpasses around the Arc de Triomphe also access the metro?? I forget and my husband and I are having a bet (I won't tell you what side I am on! HA HA)
Yes, they do.
I'm going to throw a little wrinkle in to the answer...when we went down Wednesday, only one tunnel was open. And it did not access the metro. We had to exit at street level and cross a street and then go back underground.
Actually as I recall it was a case like Dinas, i remember coming up to street level then crossing and descending to the cross under. There may be two correct answers, lol
You can't get into the metro from the pedestrian tunnels you use to get out under the Arc. The metro tunnel is older and on a lower level. When I was a kid, you had to dash across through the traffic.
If you look on Google Maps, they make the stop look like it's at the foot of the monument! I don't remember it that way! (2004)
LOL it's driving me crazy!! HAHA
Oops! Since I haven't been in Paris for nearly seven years (boo hoo), I shouldn't have trusted my memory.
