We are flying out of Memmingen in early June and would like a recommendation for hotel in the area. We will be using public transportation.

If you get no direct recommendation, try hotel.de. You can ask for distance to airport in your query. Also, see if the airport has a web site; sometimes they recommend hotels nearby and if there's a shuttle to the airport. Mostly, there is an "English" option if you need it.

I've always found a towns own website and list of accommodations to be far more helpful than booking websites. Memmingen is at www.memmingen.de. Click on "Tourismus".
