Hi, My wife and I will be arriving at Gare de l'Est, Paris on different trains. Is there a convenient meeting point in the terminal that we can look out for? Thanks Neil
This page which has photos of Gare de l'Est and a station map may help you pick a spot to meet.
I go to Gare de l'Est every trip in Paris. It has been refurbished and expanded. Two places I would suggest are in front of the new brasserie or opposite from that the "super market" on the floor below the ground floor...very spacious area.
We were just there a few days ago. I suggest in front of the Information office. There'll be signs to it no matter where you come off the train and since it's in the corner of the station, there's a windowed corner area between the information office and the exit door that would be convenient for waiting with luggage.
I've been to Gare de l'Est as well, and echo what Kathy suggested...
Thanks for the info.
The other interesting spot on Gare de l'Est is that in the Western train hall there is a painting of the leavetaking there when soldiers were off to fight in WWI. Maybe meet under that, at any rate make sure you see it.
