Three of us will be arriving El Prat airport, terminal 1, to start a vacation together. Im flying from Los Angeles (Delta), they're flying from Miami (American Airlines). Ive poked around the El Prat website to try to figure out a place for all of us to meet up, to no avail. Does anyone have any tips on where I can meet my friends after arriving Terminal 1? I arrive 1 hour earlier than they do.

The traditional meeting place is by the statue of the big Black Horse. You can't miss it.

The Black Horse is in Terminal 2; they need a place in Terminal 1.

Since no one else (other than Tom) has responded, I will give it a try, although we have only been through El Prat one time. It is a small airport and easily negotiated. We used the Aerobus to get into Barcelona (about 6 euros as I recall) and I recommend that. You could agree to meet in the Arrivals area, just after walking through the "green line" of customs. This is where others wait to meet arriving passengers. Since you arrive first, you could wait inside the airport, in a comfortable area, until their plane lands, and then proceed through the customs line to the Arrivals hall to meet them. Then you just walk outside to the curb to catch the Aerobus if you are doing that. Maybe someone can suggest a more specific area or landmark, but it should be in Termional 1 since you both arrive there.

Thanx for the replies thus far! If no other specific landmark pops up, I'll take the suggestion to meet them at the exit of the customs area.
