How long do you need here? Can you do it in about a half day? Would love to go but thinking about pairing it with another activity such a s museume in Paris.
You could probably do the Marche in half a day, as long as you get there right at opening time. Just leave when you've had enough. Two "problems" with the March aux Puces are its size, and the fact it's just outside Paris's northern boundary, so you have to travel all the way to the end of Metro line 4, Porte de Clignancourt. You walk under the Paris ring road before you come to the market itself, altho there is a small section to your left just before you hit the ring road. Once there, straight ahead (north) and left (west) are all the itinerant vendors. Inside that triangle are all the permanent shops, from junky old toys to antique furniture. If you're shopping for groceries, there's a street market along Boul. Ney which runs parallel to, and just south of the ring road. About 1:30, they start selling bagloads of produce for "un euro"....since they can't return it, they'd rather get rid of what's left for "un euro" than get nothing. WATCH OUT FOR PICKPOCKETS, espy. on the Metro!
