Yes, it is beautiful! It's probably still going to be a bit wintry there in March--but maybe a short visit will suit you? Weather permitting, you can ride Europe's highest and arguably most spectacular gondola, gaining 9000 vertical feet up to the 12,600 foot high tip of a rock needle, the Aiguille du Midi. The ride down, especially going over the edge, is really something, you look down almost 2 vertical miles at Chamonix, here's what that looks like:
Walk the village, take photos, gondola rides. It is a lovely place w/ nice architecture.
