I am currently in Paris and thinking about visiting Malta/Gozo in September. Does anyone have any information or opinions on Malta. What airlines fly there?
We flew Air Malta from London to Valletta a few years ago but I think a lot of other airlines fly there. Do a quick google. We spent most of our time on Malta with a day trip to Gozo. It would seem Gozo is much quieter than Malta itself so it depends what kind of visit you want.
There is plenty to see of historical interest in Malta and a good bus system that can take you all over the island. We stayed at a hotel in Sliema but for lots of action with bars & nightlife I think St. Julians is the place to be, or so we heard.
The capital Valletta is easy to walk around to sight see. I suggest you buy a guide book to get the most from your stay.
I see the previous poster suggested buying a guidebook for Malta...does anyone recommend a specific book for Malta? (I'm lost w/o one from R. Steves!)
I saw guidebook from Lonely Planet. It seems good.
Yes, the Lonely planet guide is the one we used and it was excellent.
