i'll be in mallorca in september. any suggestions of day trips or sights to see while my husband is conducting business?

I was there this past September. It rained a lot but the beach was great, as well as walking around Palma itself. Don't miss the cathedral.

Take the little train from Palma's Placa d'Espanya to Soller and take the short trip from Soller to Port Soller on a tram.
The train line was originaly built to transport oranges into Palma, and is now a tourist attraction as it crosses the island and is worth taking just for the stunnig scenery.
One word of warning is to check the timetable as the trains do not run frequently and it may be worth doing the return journey by bus.
