What are the locations of the train station and the airport in Malaga? We are taking the train from Madrid to Malaga, then staying in the town of Marbella and flying back to Madrid from Malaga. Are the train station and airport close? Is it better to rent a car at the train station or the airport?

The train station and bus station are located side by side in Malaga and some distance from the airport. So if arriving by train you will need to pick the car up at the train station. There is local bus service from the bus station to the airport but it is long ride through lots of town traffic so it takes nearly an hour. If you want the bus walk out the front of the train station turn left, cross the street to the bus station. The pick up for the airport, is obvious and in English, buy ticket on the bus, was 1.10 E last year, probably a little higher this year.
