I am noticing that several B&B's allow you to 'book' through their website but then to confirm the reservation want you to e-mail (!) or fax them your credit information. Is anyone here familiar with this or comfortable doing this?
I have done it lots and never have encountered problems with it. Some people say that if you split your CC info into two different e-mails it would be alot safer. You could also fax them your CC info but I would be more leery of that as they would have a paper copy of your info which could be tossed out/misplaced/ovelooked etc...
Yes, I've emailed that information several times with never a problem. I'd rather email it than fax it because, as Kate said, you don't know what will happen to the received paper copy, or who might get ahold of it.
