We are thinking of taking a quick trip from Germany to Majorca for a long week-
end. Would anyone suggest a place to stay, recommend staying at one end of the island than another? Please keep in mind that we have a six year old with us and we are not a "wild" family, a good bottle of wine and friendly neighbors are appreciated. Thank you. Jackie

We absolutely loved our stay here! The beaches, the climate, the scenery, the people are all wonderful. You'll have a wonderful time and so will your child. It's on my list of places to return to some day.

The Western half of the island is most spectacular, kind of looks like the Pacific coast South of Monterey. Many celebrities own land and houses there including Hollywood ones. The South is sandy beaches, high rise buildings and thousands of partying Brits and Germans. The SW is beautiful, especially in Spring (blooming almond trees). The NW is also beaches and hills, many hotels by the beaches and more family oriented kind of vaccation... I love the area around Andratx for the harbor, the vinyards, the mountains etc. Just rent a car from the airport and drive around, the island isn't that big! I recommend taking Air Berlin from FRA to PMI as PMI is one of their major hubs. I've made several good experiences renting a car thru doyouspain.com.
