Has anyone done the walking tours offered by the TI office that are mentioned in the RS book? Were they good? I am looking at the one at 4pm that starts in Plaza Mayor and the one only offered on Wednesday that goes through the park. I would need to rush through the Royal Palace to make it so I am just trying to determine if it is worth planning my day around or just a nice thing to do if I run out of other things to see.

We took 2 of the walking tours offered by the Tourist Office in November 2010. It was a good intro to the city, very informative and low cost.We went both directions from Plaza Mayor. Haven't done the Wednesday park one.
