Madrid to Gibraltar to Tangier

My family and I (there are 4 of us) are planning to do the Rick Steves Spain trip, which includes Barcelona and Madrid. It goes from June 21-28, 2009. The tour is over the morning of the 28th.

We are hoping to visit Gibraltar and then Tangier, Morocco after Spain. I am not sure of how we will travel from Madrid to Gibraltar to Tangier. If anyone has suggestions, they would be welcome! I'm not sure how the travel time works, what method we should use (plane, bus, etc) and which day we will be in which city.

Please let me know any advice you have.

Mickie....how many days do you have to add on? En route to Gibraltar and Tangiers are Toledo, Cordoba, Sevilla, Ronda, Granada, Arcos de la Frontera....all sorts of sights to see. Unless you're wedded to Gibraltar and Tangiers, I would suggest a swing through those spots in Andalucia to give you a real look at southern Spain.
