Before flying home from a month in Europe, we have one full day to spend in Madrid. We have visited Madrid before and seen most of what we wanted to, however, the one thing we did not do was go to El Escorial and on to the Valley of the Fallen. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this as a one day trip? My Rick Steves book is old (from our Madrid trip several years ago), so I would love to know the "latest and greatest" way out there and back. Thanks!
