I am scheduling 3 days in Madrid then driving on to Cordoba. One of those days I will do a trip to El Escorial. I want to see Toledo also, would it be worthwhile to do Toledo as a day trip from Madrid, should I see it on the way to Cordoba or should I take one day off of Madrid and spend a night in Toledo instead?
I was in Madrid in October. Took the high speed train from the train station in Madrid to Toled. Travel time was about 1/2 hour. About $20(US) or so round trip as I recall. At the train station in Toledo took the city bus to the heart of town. That evening after dinner near St. Tome church, hailed a taxi back to the train station and then back to Madrid. A great way to see Toledo. Plan to return in March and stay a couple of days in Toledo.
