For anyone heading to Madrid, a reminder that the Metro system is being struck through Wednesday. Officials say they're maintaining about 50% service...and because schools and universities are out, the overload isn't as bad as it might ordinarily be.
FWIW, the news tonight reported that so far the strike has not made any impact on travel times, but the unions are meeting to discuss a reduction of minimum service in order to create more pressure. It's telling that the average user of the system can't tell the difference between a strike and day to day service.
