I was told that Atocha is the stop for Madrid coming from Barcelona, but just which Atocha? I try to buy AVE ticket online, there're 2 Atocha stops listed on RENFE site: Madrid Atocha Cercanias and Madrid Puerta De Atocha, help! Thanks a million.

AVE Barcelona-Madrid line runs from
Barcelona (Sants) to
Madrid (Puerta de Atocha)
[Cercanias and Puerta de Atocha are the same station. The Cercanias terminal is for local/commuter trains only as cercanias in Spanish means literally 'close by']

They're actually both the same station. "Puerta de Atocha" is the main station that you will want....Atocha Cercanias, in the same building, is the hub for the regional commuter rail system, called the "cercanias." You will find "cercanias" systems in several larger Spanish cities.
