My wife & I are planning a Feb trip and will rent an apartment. Is one section of Madrid better then the other to rent within. Are all areas safe to rent in?

Hi! There's really only one place in Madrid which I would consider "sketchy", and that's the Lavapies area. While lively with nightclubs and bars, the after-hours can be questionable if you find yourself alone on the street. Here you have narrow, dark streets and less foot traffic late at night. This old Madrid neighborhood is definitely a must-see during the day, however, because of its old shops, markets, bars, and old-world charm. Saludos, MadridMan @ you-know-where!
