Which strain station is closer to the airport - Atocha or Chamartin? Which is easier to get to? Appreciate any help. Barb

Chamartin is closest by a big margin. Neither station is easy to reach via subway. There is a bus directly to Atocha, takes about an hour. Don't know abut Chamartin.

Where are you going to travel when you get to the train station? Trains from one station go to one set of desitnations, trains from the other go to other desitnations? Generally, 3/4 - one hour to Atocha, depending on the means selected. Charmartin would be closer of the two to the Barajas airport.

Barb - we are happy to help but need more info. What do you want to do when you get to the train station? And in many ways it doesn't matter which is closer because the metro serves both so the time difference is minimal. Tho if you take a taxi Chamartin is closer.
