Madrid accommodations

I'm trying to cancel an apartment that smells of a scam (with HouseTrip) in Madrid, Aug. 5-8, and wondering if anyone has recommendations for decent accommodations that are on the less expensive side. We are five on the first night, and then three (my wife and youngest son go home a couple of days before the rest of us).
