We are flying via AirEuropa from JFK to Madrid and are then taking an easyjet flight from Madrid to Rome. We have quite a few hours, but not enough that we want to risk leaving the airport and coming back. This is not a layover as the flights are on 2 separate itineraries and would require us to check-in again. How would one go directly from the arrival gates to check-in? Are they located in 2 different terminals?
Thanks!
Hi again Monique, I've been to the airport in Madrid quite a few times but never had to go from one flight to another. But I did a little research and both AirEuropa and EasyJet arrive and depart from Terminal 1. The arrivals are on the lower level and the departures are one level up, not a real problem. I've attached a link to the airport to give you a little insight. http://www.aena.es/csee/Satellite?cid=1049727006353&pagename=subHome&SiteName=MAD&c=Page&Language=EN_GB
Perfect!! Thanks so much!!
When landing, you will be processed through Immigration (passports) to the baggage claim. After the baggage claim you will exit via customs though the "nothing to " door on all my trips!]. From there you will proceed to the easyjet gates. Not sure if they are in the same terminal or not, but you will be guided to the proper area. Suggest you check the web site mentioned in the other post for specifics. There are free baggage carts at the baggage claim - a definite plus!!
