I will be staying for 4 nights in Luzern in September. I am interested in any tips on sites to see and reasonable restaurants in Luzern. I am planning to go to the village of Alpnach, where my great grand parents were born, while in Luzern. Does anyone have any knowledge of this village and how to get there??

Ah, another Ohioan with Swiss roots! My husband (from Canton) has great-grandparents who came from the Emmental area. We visited the village and saw the old farmstead, which has been turned into a community center. Anyway. . . Alpnach is only 16 to 20 minutes from Luzern on the urban train line S5. Make sure you get Alpnach Dorf, not Alpnachstad which is close, but a different stop (and the start of the cogwheel train up Pilatus).
