The Hotel Tourist is great. Its about a 10 minute walk from the station along the river. When you're there ask for a room on the river side of the hotel - great views out your window the old town and the Kapellbrucke. Breakfast is included and its comparatively inexpensive for Luzern.

elodie, Although it's a short walk from the train ststion, one hotel that you might consider is Hotel Stern. I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable, they serve a nice breakfast and the food in the restaurant is great. You'll have to decide if it fits with your budget (keeping in mind that Switzerland is generally expensive). It's only about a 10 minute walk to the river and Chapel Bridge, and it's a "safe" neighborhood (there's a Police station a short distance from the hotel). Happy travels!

We stayed in the Hotel des Alpes which is just across the river (and right on the river)from the train station. Very nice place with a great location. It is moderately priced (for Switzerland).
