We will be arriving in Lutherstadt by train and we will be staying at Rick's recommended Stadthotel Schwarzer Baer hotel. What is the best way to get from the main train station (hbf) to the hotel? Walk? Taxi? Bus? Or, should we continue on the train to the closer Altstadt train station (this, though, would require a 50-minute wait at the hbf station on the other side of town). Danke!

The hotel's website and downloaded prospectus say this: from the Altstadt Bahnhof (train station) it's a five minute walk. From the Hauptbahnhof, take the bus to Marktplatz or walk it in 15 min. Unfortunately, it doesn't say which bus number but you could ask a driver....Also, if it's that close, a cab probably wouldn't be very expensive. The hotel website has a map with their location marked. Looking at the map, I wouldn't walk it from the Hauptbahnhof. The hotel looks like it's in a great location. Wish I were going.....
