lunch in Luxembourg

Any ideas for lunch to kill a couple hours between trains?

Just go for a walk around the main drag. It's actually a pretty city, does not really feel like a major European capitol (because it's not, if you don't count the more recent EU bureaucracy). No major monuments, but they do have a cute little royal palace, and the city itself is in a spectacular setting - along the confluence of two deep gorges. There are nice scenic/historic walks along the old fortifications that (some say) gave the town the nickname "the Gibraltar of the north" (the parallel doesn't seem to fit IMHO, but I guess the chamber of commerce has to have something).

I like the feel of the place - it seemed to be the cleanest and most "livable" European capitol that I've been to. Clean, low-stress, but expensive. If all you've got is a couple of hours between trains, just relax, take a walk and enjoy the scenery (that's what we had - we stopped on our way from Brussels to Germany and it made a nice break).

Luxembourg is underrated and under-appreciated - which is our gain. No hoards of package tours, just real old Europe. We loved the country - especially the north.

Have fun.

Believe it or not, Luxembourg City has a hop-on/hop-off bus tour. The entire route takes about an hour--if you don't get off.

Thank you both for the replies. I'm so looking forward to our train ride from Brussells to Strasbourg. I purposely planned the stop in Lux because it appears to be so beautiful in the pics. Sounds like I won't be disappointed.
Thanks! Rachel
