I'll be in Switzerland in January for 9 days. 3 day are business (Zurich) and 6 vacation (various locations). When not in Zurich, I'd like to only travel with my backpack and leave my suitcase behind. Does anyone know how big the lockers are in the train stations/airports? Would I be better off leaving them at a hotel?

The lockers come in three sizes. The largest size should be able to hold three medium sized cases. In addition there is a staffed luggage hold area. If your intention is to use the lockers of several days in a row it's best to use staffed area; after a certain number of days, the lockers are emptied out. Also, in Switzerland you can send your luggage ahead to another station. You have the choice of picking up your bags at the hold area, or for an additional fee delivered directly to your hotel.
