Is there anyplace to store luggage for the day while in Granada? Apparently the train station does not offer this.

If you are solely there for the Alhambra, there are facilities there. If not or if it suits perhaps - http://granadamap.com/ilocker/ described as 'in front of the station', certainly the address seems to confirm.
