How have others handled luggage, we are flying into frankfurt and taking the train to Moselkern. Any tips on storing luggage for a few hours?

There are left luggage facilities at the airport and at the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) in Frankfurt.

"for a few hours"? If, as I suspect, you are going to go to Moselkern, I'd guess you are walking to Burg Eltz. I'd call that more than a few hours. Are you coming back to the airport?

There might be someplace at the airport to leave bags, but if you are coming back to fly out, couldn't you just check them through? I can't find any lockers on the maps of the Fern- or Regionalbahnhofs at FRA.

I would think your best bet would be to take your luggage with you and put it in lockers in Koblenz when you change trains for Moselkern (there are no lockers in Moselkern). Alternatively, there are also lockers in the Hbf in Mainz, and you will most likely change trains there, too.

We are comming from Frankfurt, and continuing to Baden-Baden. Are there lockers in Cochem?

Sorry, Cochem Bahnhof's layout isn't in my database. However, if you are going to Moselkern, then to Baden-Baden, I don't think Cochem is in your "line".

Update: According to the Bahn website, Cochem does not have "lock boxes" (lockers).

If, as I suspect, you want to go to Cochem, leave you luggage, then to Burg Eltz, back to Cochem for the night, going from Koblenz to Cochem, then back to Burg Eltz, then back to Cochem will not be a lot shorter than leaving your luggage in Koblenz, going to Burg Eltz, back to Koblenz pick up your luggage, then on to Cochem.

But, if you have a place to stay in Cochem, can you go there, leave your luggage, then go to Moselkern.

Either way, with jet lag, it is going to be a long day.

Thanks to all for your help and information. We are going to train from Frankfurt to Baden-Baden, and may go to the castle the next day from Baden-Baden.

I've visited Burg Eltz from Moselkern. There weren't any lockers when I was there. I was only carrying a daypack (with a change and a half of clothes) for the week - so just packed it with me. Rick's guide said you could ask to leave it at the station - I'm not sure if that would have worked or not.

Cochem isn't far away. It's bigger but may not have lockers either.
