Lugano

Jennifer, The suggestions you've listed sound good for the time you have available. Which part of Lugano will you be staying? From the main part of town, you'll need to walk to Paradiso to connect with the Funicular for Monte San Salvatore. It's an easy and pleasant walk. When you arrive at the top of the Funicular station (there's a small Cafe there), be sure to hike up the path to the small Church and then climb to the roof for incredible views. A morning boat tour is also a good idea. As I recall, many of the boats depart from a location close to the Casino. The Hotel should be willing to store your luggage while you're out touring. Thank you for the reply! We are staying at Hotel Delfino in Lugano. Do we need reservations for the Funicular? Do you have book a time for the return down on the funicular or can we stay up there for as long as we want? The tour of the bay boat tour allows you to get off at any stop and take another boat later. It stops at Paradiso, S. Rocco. Caprino, Grotto del Pescatori, Museo Dognale Cantine di Gandria, Gandria, Grotto Elvezia, Museo Heleneum and Castagnola. Have you been to any of the stops? Do you have suggestions on which stops we should get off and explore? Do you think we need reservations for the tour of the bay?

We did both the funicular and boat trip on our recent trip. Just walked up to booking office and bought tickets. We took the little tourist hop on hop off train to Monte San Salvatore. We loved our 3 days in Lugano.
