Does anyone have lodging they recommend in Lucerne? I've done some research and most near Old Town run about $200 a night.
Lisa, You might have a look at Hotel Stern. It's within walking distance from the station (although I'd use a Taxi with luggage), and easy walk to the Chapel Bridge and other sights. I found the rooms to be very comfortable and they serve a nice breakfast. Happy travels!
Hi, I've stayed in Lucern with friends, but this year I am staying at the Hofquartier Apartments near the main church downtown. It was recommended by another friend that stays there every year. I haven't been there yet, but I've emailed the owner and she is very helpful. Cost is 100 Swiss Francs per night. A great deal. Here is the website: http://www.appartements-luzern.ch/en/apartments/rates.html Good Luck!

We stayed atthe Hotel Des Alpes right on the river. It was a few years ago, so it may be expensive now, but was very convenient.
We stayed at the Radisson, three years ago. We could walk to the hotel from the train station.
