Luberon area of Provence

We will be spending 3 days in the Luberon next June as part of 9 days in Burgundy, Provence, and the French Alps. Does anyone have a recommendation for a gites (by the day) or other accommodation (B&B, etc) for up to 7 adults? We prefer to be in a village rather than outside of a town. We also could split up - 2 couples in one rental, and the other 3 adults in another. I've found many listings but most are weekly rentals.

My suggestion would be to look into Cote Lourmarin in Lourmarin. http://www.cotelourmarin.fr/index.php #1 on Tripadvisor for the 9 B&Bs and Inns in Lourmarin. We have not stayed there but we have been to Lourmarin. Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Wonderful to walk around. Several restaurants. We had lunch there and the food and service was great.

You might consider renting from Holly Poitier. She is an American with properties in the south of France. She has a place called the Maison Akette in a small village in the Luberon. I don't know if she could "fix" it to accommodate all of you or if she would consider 2-3 nights only, but she certainly would be a good person to ask about accommodations in the area. Here's the link to her website: http://www.provencesejour.com/index.html.

In 2012, we rented an apartment from her in Aix-en-Provence for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tell her that Lo and Trout from Tucson gave you the recommendation.

We stayed in Lourmarin. It is a really neat and out of the way village that has more European visitors than Americans and is a nicelocatio to base out of. We really liked it and would happily go back. The B&B La Cordiere was nice and the people were very helpful. It is in Rick's book and is easy to connect with online.
