My parents are considering either or these places to go to from Warnemunde from our cruise. I know Berlin in famous for its sights, but Lubeck looks fascinating. Which would you recommend? Thanks! We have 13 1/2 hours from when we get of the boat.

I don't know how far Lubeck is from Warnemunde, but it's much more suitable for a single day visit than Berlin (which has enough to see for many days).

Lubeck IS fascinating, but how do you intend to get there? It's two and a half hours each way on public transportation, and quite a bit more than that to Berlin. I'm not sure I'd want to spend that much time just getting somewhere and back.

To me Lübeck makes or sense in such short time than Berlin. Also consider Schwerin, which is only 90 minutes from Warnemünde.
