I think many Helpline travelers like to take advantage of the underground access to the Louvre museum via the Carrousel du Louvre shopping mall and the line 1 metro stop, Palais Royal - Musee du Louvre.
However, please be aware that from January 6 through March 2 (according to stickers being posted inside line 1 trains), you will not be able to get off the train on Line 1 at Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre. The quais (train platforms) will be inaccessible (nor will you be able to transfer to the line 7 at that station).
You'll have to get off the line 1 train at Tuileries or Louvre-Rivoli stations and walk back to the Louvre, take the 72 bus along the rue de Rivoli, or take line 7 to Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre stop.
