we will be visiting in stuttgart, germany and would like to make it to either lourdes, france or medjugorie, both sites of the virgin mary. any recommendations on either site and/or how to best travel there. we only have 12 visiting days.

With only 12 days, I would think that it will be much easier to get to Lourdes than Medjugorie. Lourdes has many more options, including train and air. Medjugorie is somewhat close to Dubrovnik, Croatia, but if you are already in Germany, France is much easier to get to.

Lourdes has a small airport served by Air France and some charter companies in the summer "season". You can also get there by train. It is a LONG way from Germany. A GREAT place for buying tacky plastic virgin Marys!

By train Lourdes is at least a 12-hours trip from Stuttgart, including having to transfer by Metro from the Paris Est train station to the Gare de Montparnasse in Paris.

That is correct, Tyler, but now that we know she is going to Paris as well, she can tack it on after Paris, which should work out nicely.
