Frederic Rent-A-Bike is reasonable. They have several properties with rooms ranging from luxury to basic. We stayed at Frederic's Parents' Place in a room for 2 people, shared bathroom and shower, for about 70 euros per night.

It would help if you would let us know your definition of "cheap". The first hotel recommended (Ibis) is €149 for the lowest cost room. Not my definition of cheap.

We got a good rate at hotel Nadia for this fall. Have not been there yet though. They do have a website.

B&B Batavia-about 10 min walk from Anne Frank house, in a residential building, 2 rooms only, owner lives upstairs, very nice people/place. felt safe there. Smaller room 86euros, has own BR, 2 chairs to sit in, fridge. I"ve stayed twice, will stay again next time I go. A-dam central is easy to get around in. Approx 10-15 min from train station, e-mail for directions or take a taxi
