We are spending a week in Paris and then would like to do a 2 day - 1 night trip to Amboise before returning to the US. Thinking early train from Paris on a Sunday and late train back to Paris on a Monday. Any recommendations for places to stay in town, wine and chateaux tours, etc.? Thx.

The last house that Leonardo Da Vinci lived in, Le Clos Luce, is located in Amboise. Inside this manor house there is a collection of models made by I B M based on the designs of Da Vinci. Some full-sized models of the "Fabulous Machines " are exposed and available to try out on the grounds of Le Clos Luce.

We stayed Manoir St Thomas and loved it,
http://www.manoir-saint-thomas.com/. We had a rental car, so we did not take tour of the chateaux, but explored them on our own. You might want to rent a car at the train station for getting around. Hope you have a great trip. Highly reccommend the restaurant Ambiance, wonderful food and service.
