We are traveling from Paris to Cinque Terre via Nice, and I thought it would be fun to spend a night in Nice or Monaco. Can anyone recommend lodging that is less than $200 per night?? And, I would love recommendations on what to see there (I am an avid photographer!). Thanks!

Yes - Rick's books are helpful, and Nice sounds like a good place to overnight. I will check the hostelworld site. Any and all recommendations are apprectaited!

You'll find a wider range of hotel rates in Nice, and Rick's books France and Provence & Riviera give his hotel picks. Or go to the viamichelin.com site and select the Hotels tab.

I would stay in Nice becuase Monaco is really expensive. You can take a 1/2 hour train ride from Nice to Monaco for a day or afternoon trip. Try hostelworld.com for some decent and economical accomidations
