I am going to Paris in October from the 5th to the 11th. Does anyone have a recommendation for lodging in La Marais? This will be my first trip and I am so excited.
Try parisbestlodge for a selection of apartments. Good value and excellent locations, especially one we stayed at on Rue du Roi de Sicile
My wife and I have enjoyed our stays at the Hotel Castex. Check out their website, which gives an accurate depiction of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is comfortable and clean. The location is superb.
Try www.rentalfrance.com We stayed in apartment - 37 Rue St Paul
Excellent location.
Hotel Jeanne D'Arc is on the NY Times top 10 list for hotels under $150 and is very popular.
Grand hotel Français in the 4th is wonderful choice. We stayed there in early October and plan to return for our next trip there.
Do you have a budget for your trip?
I have twice stayed at the Jeanne d'Arc mentioned by Susan. It is well located and pleasant, and just a short walk from the St. Paul metro or the No. 69 bus stop. Rooms are small and the elevator unbelievably tiny, but at least there is an elevator. Lots of shops close by and on rue St. Antoine a good cheese shop and a branch of Monoprix.
I like the hotel Hostellerie du Marais. It's a nice hotel, with pretty rooms (you can see the pictures on the website http://www.hostelleriedumarais.com/ ). I have happy memories of this hotel because it was very comfortable with a great service.
