Lodging near the main train station in Munich

I am looking for recommendations for a moderately priced nice hotel near the main train station in Munich. Any recommendations?

We like to stay at Pension Locarno. It's right across the street and fairly resonably priced. The only drawback for some people is the bathrooms are down the hall. We've never had issues with that, but just wanted to let you know.

We stayed at the Kings Center Hotel in 2006 and liked it quite well. I think it's about 4 blocks from the train station. www.kingshotel.com It was in Rick's Germany book, not sure if it still is.

We stayed at the TRYP Hotel , about three blocks from the station; nice hotel, nice rooms, good meals. More expensive we prefer hotel Eden Wolf which is right across the street from the station, with a wonderful restaurant

We just got back from the Hotel Eder, it was 5 minutes away from the Train Station between it and Karlsplatz, so convienent location, slightly "seedy" (as is everything directly near the Hbf) but safe. The hotel was more traditional German looking (wood paneling, furniture, etc), very friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast included. We were only there for one night but it was totally fine for our needs, and the price was right 95 euro for a triple (I think runs as low as 75 for a double). Hope that helps!

I stayed in Litty's Hotel (in RS Germany guide). It was a simple place, with shared bathroom. But was inexpensive ( I think I paid 92e for a single for two nights), and had a good breakfast. I think it was about 5 blocks south of the Hbf. You can read about it on TripAdvisor.

We also stayed at the King's Hotel Center on Marsstrasse in the fall of 2009. It was very comfortable and convenient to the train station ... and to the Augustiner Keller just a few blocks west on Arnulfstrasse. The breakfast was not included and it was expensive I thought, but it was fabulous. I heard some other travelers say they chose to go over to the train station for a simpler and cheaper breakfast. Check out the room prices at http://www.kingshotels.com/hotel-munich/prices.html to determine if it would be appropriate for you.

Hi, Near the main train station, especially on Schillerstrasse, are numerous Pensionen and small hotels, all in the budget or moderate range. This is the area I stay in, you'll have plenty of choices.
