Does any one have any suggestions of places to stay in the Appenzell, Jakobsbad area of Switzerland other then the ones in the Rick Steves travel book. They are full at this time. Fall 2009

This may or may not be of help...
We were in the area a while ago and stayed in nearby Liechtenstein at the Hotel Martha Beuler. Nice place and fantastic views! It's about an hour from Appenzell.

We stayed at this gasthof: www.froheaussicht.ch It's located in a town on the outskirts of Appenzell--similar to Haus Lydia. The train has easy access to its location. Their restaurant downstairs was excellent. Good luck and have fun on your trip.
