We are considering staying a few days in the St Emillion area to enjoy the wine country. This will follow our stay in the Dordogne area. Will this area pale in comparison to the Sarlat area? Can anyone recommend a B&B in that area?
Check out the website for Logis de France. I'm sure you will find there a number of small inns, family-run, in the area of St. Emilion. In may years of travelling in France we have never gone wrong in choosing a Logis de France auberge.
Oh, and I think you will find St. Emilion just as charming as Sarlat, but in a different way. Oh, dear, now I want to do a road trip in France right this minute.
Norma--thanks for your comments. I think we have several good possibilities for lodging in or near St. Emillion. We will turn rental car in around Libourne and catch the fast train to Paris--a whole week in an apt in the Marais--first time staying in Marais. Can't wait until May!
