Download Google Earth, a free download, takes a couple of minutes. When you're on, input Frankfurt, you'll see the airport (look for the runways on the southwest edge of the city), enable the Lodging layer under Places of Interest and it shows you the hotels around the airport, you can click them and get their websites.

When I was there in 2001, I stayed at an Achat hotel in Langen. It is fairly close to the airport. We just walked in and got a room and it was very reasonable. (of course, this was before the euro was the currency and we got 2DM for the $1. ) Their web site is www.achat-hotel.de. I would definately stay there again. However, we had a car and where we leased the car provided transportation to the airport so without a car it could be a little tricker. Another budget option is Accor hotels. They own the Ibis chain and several other chains. (Ibis is one of their more budget friendly options.) They usually have something close to the airport. I've used the Ibis chain when I've needed to stay by an airport before, and I was very satisfied. Their web site is accorhotels.com.

Staying around the airport is boring, as you don't have quite as easy access to the city and all of its wonderful sights. Airport hotels are also expensive. Come into town on the subway which costs about 3.60€ and takes about 15 min. There are tons of hotels in town. If you let us know how many people and your price range, we can steer you in a good direction. Also the dates, as the larger trade fairs do affect the hotel prices.
