I have most of our hotels reservations, but now stuck on Burne Switzerland and South of France (Arles, Avignon area). Doesn't have to be in either of those towns but the general area in South France. We will have a car when there. We have looked in all the RS books. All recommendations seem to have differing opinions on TripAdvisor. All the recommendations on here have always served me well. Thanks.

Hi Bill, Murten is great, as is Neuchatel nearby - although it is much bigger. The other option is Solothun. This is a great little town that is not very well known. Everytime we've been there locals have asked us at dinner how we came to be in Solothun. It is very quant with a 15th century clock tower and probably 8 squares decorated with unique water fountains. Great food too. As for south of France, are you looking for inland (Provence?) or Riveria?
